Oh god, how did it come to this?

I used to live alone ... I now have flatmates again.

The bathmat’s always damp and the telly’s always on. The kitchen radio is tuned to Capitol FM and, bafflingly, there are no curtain rails in the house outside of the living room. There’s no space in the fridge, and an distinct lack of consensus on the heating and window-opening policy. And don’t get me started on the “cleaning”..

It’s going to take some getting used to.

  • I agree that living alone is neater and quiter BUT sometimes too lonely... now you have someone to have a glass of wine with?

  • "...what do we get for our trouble and pain? Just a rented room in Whalley Range..."

Good to see you back Spin

wrod vericifatoin: reltin - shouldn't that be an 'N', not an 'L'??

  • Sarah - you do have a point - being new in town it's good to have instant friends. But still, I'm a bit of a lone wolf. Um, obviously.

Bob! I thought you'd left blogging as well. Have you ever been to Whalley Range? It's so grim even I'd not live there!

  • ...window-opening policy?

  • I moved into my fella's house that he's lived in for the last thirteen years with his son. In this time, neither of them have hoovered once. Today, Amazon informs me that my hoover bags have shipped. I feel disproportionately excited by this.

  • What is it with the bathmat thing???? With you in spirit, sister.

  • Never been to Whalley Range Spinster, but I do occasionally have to pass through West Drayton, which is about as close as I get to believeing that there actually is a hell. That and the Graham Norton Show, obviously...

Are you on a go-slow byw? 1 post a week - nice idea, mind...

By Blogger Robert Swipe, at 10:29 AM

  • yeah, I'm on a go-slow till I figure out how to make the blog normal again, or give up and start afresh at Wordpress. Or summat.

    (Not really)

  • Wordpress is shite Spinster. Just keep doing what you did, would be my advice, for what it's worth. Then again, I've been reduced to one reader who's a Lay Preacher from Norfolk with no interest whatsoever in popular culture, so what do I know?
