It didn't happen...
He. Stood. Me. Up.
By phone, that is. I spent the day waiting for a confirming-the-time-and-place text. Better than waiting in a pub for a no-show? I don't know, at least then I'd've had a drink in me at least.
Well, I wasn't that bothered anyhow. Relieved, really. So when I got a super-apologetic "sorry, I'm ill" text later that evening it was kind of a disappointment.
I don't think I'm cut out for the dating world at all.

Ah. Technically that's a postponement then. Give him another chance...

Not only are you back, but stuff hasn’t changed one bit.

The fact that you are relieved may be a sign that you didn't want to go out with him in the first place? Or was it just a sign you didn't want to go out on a date?
I don't think I ever properly dated anyone. Mostly it was things like just started smooching someone at a party and they never left. I think I'd run in terror at the very concept of a date.

Valerie, you're one of us! That's how we do it here! We get drunk, it's essential. Dating is just an American import, that's why we're so bad at it.

Well, good! Wouldn't it be terrible if he hadn't have stood you up, you fell in love, lived happily ever after, and had to stop blogging again just as soon as you'd started?
Welcome back.
