Facepack

I finally signed up to Facebook the other day (possibly the last thirty-something in the country to do so), with the sole intention of using it to interweb-stalk ex-shagpieces.

So, with the absolute minimum of personal detail required, I am now On Facebook.

I checked with an early-adopter friend and he assured me that people can’t see whose been sneaking a look on your profile, so I was free to surf and shark …

I just couldn’t do it. I had a few likely suspects in my head that I thought I’d want to check out, but I just couldn’t bring myself to look.

I don’t know why. Generally I am irrepressibly nosy, and it’s all in the public domain, it’s not like I would have been cracking into anyone’s personal email account or anything.

Maybe I just don’t want to know…

  • dammit, why was my link not added?

    trying again

  • the first thing I did was to check out my ex-husband but he's got a very common name, many of them listed had no photos and most were set to private, so I got nowhere and frankly I'm quite happy about that.

  • Right.

As an experiment I just searched for a random (so uninspiring I haven't even blogged about him).

He's a struggling actor (or was then) and therefore massively into relentless self-promotion. But I couldn't find him.

THe first person with his name though was some galloping knob-rash who has chose to use a pic of himself in a wanky tragic sports car.

    YOU'RE STILL FAT YOU CUNT!

  • Dearsweetgod, I've just noticed what Tragic Bloke with the same name as one of my ex-shagpieces has as his comment/summary thing:

"is really annoyed with BMW press office; he's got to wait until November now for an M5 Touring!"

    !!!!

    God, how embarrassing.

  • that's the way to do it Spinny. practise on somebody you don't know. by the time you get to the bottom of another bottle of wine should be well into the swing of it

  • you gotta go for it.

  • I think I owned a shagpiece once, but I took it back to the shop.

  • I'm on the Facepack. What is most disconserting is that I use my REAL NAME which I was supposed to never use anywhere on the internets.

    Oh well.

  • You'll be glad you done it. . talk about a laugh at and with. . the photos are some thing that brings teasrs to the eyes with laughter x

  • I joined with a fake name so that I could poke around without people from real life stalking me, but somehow people keep finding me on there no matter how hard I try to keep a low profile.

Totally worth it for the opportunity to see a photo of Spinny in a cowboy hat though.

  • I find Facebook incredibly dull, but then all my previous partners don't seem to be on it. Or hardly anybody else I know, to be honest. They're too worried about Google selling them into slavery.

  • Me too Wyndham. Most of my friends are either Irish or teachers (neither group being exactly at the forefront of all this web 2.0 wankery).

    God, I'm unpopular enough already.

  • Facepack. Can't be bothered. I have barely enough time to do my dayjob, catch up on Snopes.com, write, read and comment on blogs, run a yahoogroup, participate is a few other yahoogroups (one work-related), catch up on my favourite newsgroup (not done that for a while) and run my own website (which generates a load of email to be answered).

And I still try to restrict the amount of time I spend online!

  • I don't want to go down the f*@kbook route - it's bad enough on munterspace I can assure you.
